Nelson City Centre Arcade is anchored by the Farmers department store and features a retail and office arcade originally constructed on this site in 1973-1974.

The department store primarily occupies a single-story structure with services, offices, and storage levels at mezzanine and first floors. It boasts frontage onto Trafalgar Street, the Buxton car park, and the arcade. Two retail shops are positioned on Trafalgar Street, while the internal Arcade mall accommodates five additional shops and kiosk sites. The first floor offers small office tenancies and a café. Additionally, a separate office tenancy is accessible from the Buxton Square car park frontage.

Located on the eastern side of Trafalgar Street, midway between Hardy and Bridge Streets, in the central commercial hub of Nelson City. Trafalgar Street serves as a prominent retail thoroughfare, with the primary retail area historically extending north from the City Centre to the corner of Bridge Street. The immediate vicinity features mainly strip retail shopping, with upper floor levels predominantly utilized for office or storage purposes.
